The Fields of Wonder

There is a field where healing will cease.
For the age of things broken is over.
Enemies offer their hands in peace,
And children run barefoot in clover.

And we’ll raise an alleluia like a flag against
     the blue,
Shout out a joy that sounds like thunder.
We’ll be laughing and singing in a moment
     of Truth
Forever in the Fields of Wonder.

And in this meadow injustice will end.
For the season of greed is vanquished.
The proud will be scattered,
and the humble raised up,
And the hungry find their seats at a banquet.

And we’ll raise an alleluia like a flag against
     the blue,
Shout out a joy that sounds like thunder.
We’ll be laughing and singing in a moment
     of Truth
Forever in the Fields of Wonder.

         No more yearning…there’s no need.
In this world of hurts it can be hard to
         believe.
But if you find a seed of hope
         though you don’t understand,
         Plant it for the harvest!

There is a Great Plain where
this life will pass away,
For Death is dead, plowed under.
The Shepherd himself will open the gate to
Forever in the Fields of Wonder

And we’ll raise an alleluia like a flag against
     the blue,
Shout out a joy that sounds like thunder.
We’ll be laughing and singing in a moment
     of Truth
Forever in the Fields of Wonder.
