Down Burden Road

I give thanks for the cup you brought me
As I walked down Burden Road.
I had a thirst for what you taught me.
A sip of kindness lightens a load.

With your hand upon my shoulder
I bowed and prayed for all I owed.
And when that night could grow no colder
We turned to walk down burden road.

     As we journey into tomorrow
     Pilgrims so far from home
The joy we seek we shall find together
Till we sing around the throne.

In the shadow of Suffering Mountain
I lost my heart beneath a stone.
Then my lord Jesus came and found it
As the sun rose down Burden Road.

     As we journey into tomorrow
     Pilgrims so far from home
The joy we seek we shall find together
Till we sing around the throne.

I give thanks for the cup you brought me,
A sip of kindness sure lightened my load,
Yes, I give thanks for all You taught me
As we walked down Burden Road.
As we walked down Burden Road.
